My blog gets respectable
When I started my blog about 6 months ago, I did it for my own personal reasons, among which was that I liked the idea of being able to publicly express my feelings on a variety of topics. At StillSecure, no one had a blog and we did not really understand the power of the blogsphere. However, over the months as my readership has increased and as my blog is cited time and time again, we have realized the real value from a corporate prospective of having a blog. So we have now put links on the corporate StillSecure site to my blog here and here. This has put a lot more responsibility and visibility on me and the blog.
What does this mean to you or to me? That is something I have thought long and hard about. I have always had a disclaimer at the bottom of the page, stating that my views expressed on the blog, do not necessarily represent the views of StillSecure. However, as a CSO here and with the name StillSecure in my blog, I am not sure how realistic it is for people to recognize this distinction. So like it or not, I have to accept that people are going to read an article here and take it as the "StillSecure position". My pledge is that I will do my best to represent the best interests of StillSecure, while never violating my own core beliefs and values. Sometimes it can and will be difficult, but that is what I am going to strive for. However, if you do read my blog regularly, please know that what I write is my own view and not necessarily that of StillSecure. If you have a similar situation with your company, I would welcome your comments on how you deal with this issue.
